Well, better late than never I guess. I think that his silence and denial made him a much huger joke - coming out earlier would have been better for his career. But he's from the south, and he probably felt a lot of pressure to be hetero.
Yeah, it would have much better for his career if he'd come out right after his appearance on Idol.
He ended up on Broadway -- just like I told everyone back then.
Now, he's working in an area where it is okay to be gay. It hasn't hurt Nathan Lane's career.
