Monterey Bay Aquarium

For those of you who may have noticed, I’ve been taking a short break from blogging. But, I just have to post a few of the photos I took yesterday at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The aquarium lets locals in free of charge every year and Cliff, Glen and I headed over there with our cameras.

One of my favorite exhibits features jellyfish. I recently read in the newspaper that this jellyfish exhibit will soon be replaced by a new one featuring sea horses. So, I knew that this would be my last chance to take some shots of these awesome creatures.

It is difficult to believe that these things are real, living animals. There are many more photos in my Flickr set:

In addition to jellyfish, I managed to get some nice shots of other creatures such as birds, fish, and penguins.

HI Fritz! I've been taking a break as well....I feel your pain at not having the jellies anymore....they are such a hit with everyone. Your photos turned our spectacular! They are so vibrant with incredible color!

What gorgeous pics. You sure do have a gift. Wish we lived in the same place so we could be "picture takin' buddies"

I stopped in there the last time I was up visiting you. Incredible isn't it? That new deep sea exhibit is spooky and I found the jellyfish hypnotic.

BTW, you were wondering what you could do for your next career. Mmmmmm, I think some folks actually make a living taking pictures... ;-)

I agree with frank. You seem to have an endless supply of talent.Whatever you do.

These photos are magical, ethereal...Lovely. Keep going! I can't wait to see more.

The aquarium was beautiful, fascinating, and fun.
The children screaming were not.
Can we put the toddlers in tanks and let the fish swim free?
No one would believe I have a degree in early childhood education, except someone who also has one and know that special feeling of dread when kids stop and yell.
