I just happened to stumble across this new single by Butterfly Boucher called Gun for a Tongue. You may recall that she did a duet of Changes with David Bowie on the Shrek 2 soundtrack a few years ago.

I recently discovered an Australian band called Sneaky Sound System. They’ve been popular in their native country for about three years and have recently been released in the U.K. They have a sound that reminds me of the 1980s band Bow Wow Wow.
Unfortunately, most of their singles can’t be purchased outside of Australia. So far, I like everything I’ve been able to get my hands on through iTunes’ U.K. store. Here’s the video for their latest single, 16. Let me know what you think.
Elvis Costello - Pump It Up
The Tourists - I Only Want To Be With You
Last year, I was speaking to my ex-boyfriend, Sean, on the phone and he told me that he was going to be appearing as George Washington in a music video by singer/songwriter Jay Spears. He explained that the video was about the separation of church and state and titled Smak Dem Christians Down.
Well, Sean made an excellent Washington. Also appearing in the video are Brad Hall (actor and husband of Julia Louis-Dreyface) as Thomas Jefferson and actor Richard Riehle as a hypocritical Christian preacher.
The video has received over 48,000 views on YouTube and a 5-star rating. But, I don’t think that’s nearly enough views for a video with such a timely message — besides, it is HILARIOUS!
Check it out! Post it on your blogs!
Sarah McLachlan - Possession
Styrofoam - After Sunset
Angus & Julia Stone - What You Wanted
Will Young - Changes
I was going to post this a few weeks ago and forgot about it. It is Boy George’s version of “Yes We Can” — don’t ask me why Boy George would do something like this. I’m guessing he’s a Republican. I don’t get it.
Ultra Naté - Twisted (Got Me Goin’ ‘Round)
Today, scientists in Geneva, Switzerland fired up the Large Hadron Collider.
First Beam For Large Hadron Collider
ScienceDaily (Sep. 10, 2008) — An international collaboration of scientists today sent the first beam of protons zooming at nearly the speed of light around the world’s most powerful particle accelerator—the Large Hadron Collider (LHC)—located at the CERN laboratory near Geneva, Switzerland. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) invested a total $531 million in the construction of the accelerator and its detectors, which scientists believe could help unlock extraordinary discoveries about the nature of the physical universe.
Unfortunately, some other scientists have expressed concern that these experiments could result in the creation of a black hole that will suck in the entire world and result in the end of all things as we know it.
I wonder if it will look anything like this:
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
Devendra Banhart - Carmensita
Romeo Void - Girl In Trouble
The Cure - The Only One
Noah and The Whale - 5 Years Time (Sun Sun Sun)
Sam Harris - Change Is On The Way
Gary Jules - Mad World
